Dear colleagues,

Quite a number of years have passed since we first had that session about regulatory approaches to cyanotoxins in Bergen, and regulations have developed in a number of countries. Thus, it seems worthwhile to compile them, i.e. to see which countries include cyanotoxins or microcystin in their national regulations for drinking-water or recreational sites. We therefore suggest to devote 2 hours on 2 September 2010 evening to compiling these.

Contributions should be short (5-7 minutes) and focused on existing regulations or plans towards implementing them. In some cases, where broad screening and research programmes are having a sort-of regulatory effect, it may be adequate to report these.  We shall see whether outcomes of this meeting merit a publication, and if so, which format.

This session does not compete with the scientific ones, and prior abstract submission is not intended. However, we do need to know how many people plan to report, so please submit your title by 11 July, 2010. Please understand that this may be in addition to your scientific presentation(s).

Looking forward to seeing you and where we stand,

Ingrid Chorus and Meric Albay
